I've always been fascinated by these quirky, handheld computers. The original Organiser was released in 1984, with the much more capable Organiser II range being available from 1986 until 1996 - ten years!

00:00 ... Start
02:20 ... Setting the time on the Organiser I
03:20 ... Comparing exterior differences: Organiser I, Organiser II LA, Organiser II LZ64
06:50 ... Examining the DATAPACK
11:20 ... Peeking at the previous owner's 40-year-old data
13:40 ... Dismantling the Organiser I
17:45 ... Comparing internals with Organiser II CM
20:10 ... Quick look at an Organiser I advertising pamphlet
22:13 ... Channel Outro & Thanks

The Organiser I and II are programmable & expandable PDAs, which is why I find them an interesting device. They have two slots for removable DATAPAKs containing battery-backed RAM, an EPROM or EEPROM with data or applications.

The Organiser II also has a communication port that can be used with a variety of add-on hardware.

The programming language POPL ... originally Psion Organiser Programming Language, then later Open Programming Language ... can be used on the machine itself or transferred via the communication port.

There's quite a few excellent videos on YouTube covering how to write programs and modern hardware modifications, so I don't want to (poorly) re-hash them in my videos. But we'll try copying a game across in the next video.
