So I was scratching around the garage trying to find my Princess B&W telly that people have been asking for me to finish off ... found the empty box which likely means it's in pieces ... somewhere.

But I also came across this short-lived retro console stashed away with my OUYA ... the Neo Geo X produced by an American company (Tommo) under licence from SNK. It didn't do very well which is why you may not have heard of it - it only lasted about a year before SNK had it pulled to avoid reputation damage (or something).

00:00 ... start
08:40 ... the Game Cards (i.e. modified SD cards)
10:10 ... found a mini-HDMI converter cable (Nokia brand!)
11:00 ... making a new power cable
18:40 ... powering on & playing some games (HDMI capture)
27:30 ... pulling it apart
31:40 ... (ping!)
39:29 ... outro

That doesn't mean it's "rare" ... you can still get them, but the prices are a bif "iffy" in my view ... you might be better off saving up a bit more and buying the real thing ... ?

There is an excellent video by ‪@ModernVintageGamer‬ covering this machine and comparing it with the original (I don't have a Neo Geo AES) - you should check it out if this machine interests you:
   • Another Look at the Neo Geo X - Hybri...

He also got it "back in the day" like I did and has an unboxing video from all the way back then!
   • NeoGeo X Unboxing and Quick Review

As the back case is starting to get sticky again I think I might just spray paint it. I also might experiment with the Game Cards using an Arduino. And I need to figure out why the USB controllers didn't work ...
