Time for another game where I'm ashamed that I'm finally playing it because it was requested for a livestream. Granted, Pizza Tower hasn't been out for nearly as long as some of those previous examples... but while I can't claim to be one of the game's earliest fans, I was following its development long before it actually released. So, I'm just disappointed in myself for letting it linger in my backlog for so long in the first place -- and honestly, I'm grateful that it got nominated sooner rather than later.

That being said, if you're expecting high-level play on this one, check out a different Pizza Tower video. I'm in my mid-30s and I didn't exactly have lightning quick reflexes in my prime. That being said, I do have some goals in mind for completing this game... even if they end up nabbing me the worst possible ending. For starters, I'd like to play through every level in the game. I'm not sure if Bacon was just teasing me about that being too much of an ask, but it seems worthwhile. Next, I'd like to grab all of the toppings in each level and all of the treasures. I can already tell you that that's going to require some backtracking. Finally -- and this one is incredibly shaky -- I'd like to get at least an A-rank on each level and boss fight.

...I have my doubts that I'll be able to crack S-Rank -- or God forbid, the legendary P-Rank on any level.

KI is sitting this one out, because while they're definitely interested in Pizza Tower, the lack of any ports to console is preventing them from playing it beforehand. Considering how they often even *replay* games before I tackle them on stream, well it makes sense that they'd want to avoid "spoilers". I feel like it's only a matter of time until Pizza Tower comes out on additional platforms -- but I don't think it's going to happen until Tour de Pizza feels that it's content complete. Considering just how much it blew up on social media when it released last year, I'm sure pretty much every indie publisher is salivating over picking up the rights to this one.

Dari, on the other hand, seems to regret choosing it as my next game after the Vectorman duology... if only because it's completely incomprehensible to him. I joked that missing the opening cutscene clearly left him in the dark, but I guess he feels like he's going to need a decade's worth of comics to understand exactly what's going on here. Granted, he also tends to get angry when stories don't tell him everything from the start. The bizarreness of the setting and aesthetics seem to be getting to him like no other game I've played before. Oh well, at least he can hold the fact that he actually played Wario Land 4 -- the progenitor of the emerging "Wario-like" subgenre -- over me. Hopefully, I'll get around to that on my own at some point.
