QEMU with WineD3D render of the Game was published a year ago. [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-OLEqylgwU ] Now, let us review the Glide render with OpenGLide. We also bring on the Challenger sharing exactly the same OpenGLide used by QEMU. And for this round, both were using Glide pass-through for high performance 3D acceleration. OpenGL sRGB visuals was activated to deliver the enhanced visuals on this Game while recording in real-time.

Linux is the Home Turf for QEMU, everything about QEMU is so much better on Linux compared to when it is on Windows/macOS. Linux KVM always propels QEMU into an entirely new level of performance. Even just using TCG on Linux is faster than Windows/macOS. For this reason, the Challenger enjoys slight advantage in up-stretching into 1024x768 vs 1400x1050 for QEMU. Both suffered from the same performance pitfall of the Game, *Dynamic Lighting* and when dynamic light source illumination showed up in the rendered frame. However, this Game is a 15-FPS RPG, so low frame rate does not really matter much for enjoyable game experience. In reality, the Game is very much playable on both emulators regardless of Linux KVM & OpenGLide optimization in favor of QEMU. I would categorize the Game as *PERFECT* on both emulators, installed & played in "pristine condition" with only the last final official patch. Nothing else, no fans' mods or strings of unexplained cults to follow in steps to get it play on modern systems. It is a Game that would be pleasantly played on modern, thin & light laptops, such as the Intel EVO certified Acer Swift 3 13.5" 2256x1504 3:2 ratio display.

When OpenGLide works, Glide pass-through brings universal compatibility in cross-platform & cross-architecture for any Games supporting 3Dfx Glide renderer. Couple with highly portable FOSS emulators such as DOSBox & QEMU, the preservation of the Game into the foreseeable future is assured.
