SimCity is a City builiding\management sandbox game developed by Maxis and originally published in 1989 for Macintosh and Amiga, followed by ports and releases on nearly every computer of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Unique to this however, was the Super Nintendo of SimCity. This specific of SimCity was developed by Nintendo for the 1991 release of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and as such is perhaps the best and most polished version of SimCity ever released. Because the game was developed under license by Nintendo, Nintendo changed a few visuals and features as easter eggs for the game. For example, instead of a Godzilla clone attacking your city, the big monster is Bowser. When reaching 500k population, the player receives a statue of the Big Wahoo Man himself to place in their city. The game also features subtle effects, like seasonal changes featuring spring, summer, autum, and winter, as well as Dr. Wright, your faithful city advisor. Really, this is the definitive version of SimCity to play, featuring excellent graphics, polished gameplay, and a nice and relaxing soundtrack. It's definitely a game to have if you collect for Super Nintendo, and really feels like a unique version of the game, and not just a port. Being developed specifically for the Super Nintendo, the game was released in 1991 in Japan and North America along side the console, and in 1992 for the European Market. Following up with their original success, a SNES version of SimCity 2000 was released (it's garbage sadly), as well as an Nintendo 64 version of SimCity 2000 sold exclusively in Japan.
