Quick Tips for Dm's - Monsters Using Skills
10Describing skills and how they're used is pretty simple, right? The player's running as some flavor of humanoid creature; a human, elf, half elf, tiefling, geniekin, whatever. So when they use stealth they crouch low, stepping heel to toe, being deliberate and conscious of their movements.
But is that the only way to describe being stealthy? Would such a thing apply to non-humanoids? A stark example would be the classic Mimic, disguising itself as a treasure chest amidst a captivating pile of riches. Sure, it's a transformation of it's physical appearance.
What about an Illithid? They're known for their incredible psionics and their devouring of brains, less so their acumen for remaining unseen.
