R-Type Final 2 Stage X4.0 with Digitalius R-Typer
This video is part of a larger set that encompasses the Ship Showcase playlist. This is the thirtieth video that I recorded.
Ships in this series: Digitalius, Digitalius II, Digitalius III
The Digitalius is a Bydo style ship that has a Tentacle like Force. The red weapon is a thin machine gun. The blue weapon is far superior and shoots a wider series of bullets from the Force. The yellow weapon is a pair of tentacles that come from the top and bottom of the Force and look like flowers. The Force itself will open and close dependent on horizontal movement. Detaching the Force will make it home in on enemies while shooting, much like the Tentacle Force does, making some stages very easy, as you can let the Force do all the work for you. The Missiles are standard Bydo style Homing Missiles. The Bits are standard Bydo style Round Bits. The Wave Cannon fires Bydo bullets from the ship in a wide pattern in front of it.
This stage is an homage to R-Type's stage 3, the original battleship raid. The floor of the stage is even lethal to you, mirroring the original game, this time represented by lava or acid, so do be careful about flying to low. The flame guns on the front of the battleship respawn too, so you can't safely get in front of it. Ships with a Tentacle like Force, such as the Albatross, Eclipse, or Digitalius are great in this stage, as seen here, because the Force itself will get over on the boss's weak point and tear it up.
I've played R-Type in general for a long time, but I got really into the game in 2007 when I first played R-Type Command on my PSP, shortly followed by R-Type Final after that. I remember playing Final, Delta, 1, and 2 a lot back in 2007 through 2009. A lot of my original video set was from then. The original R-Type Final Ship Showcase was made in 2011. The unfortunate thing was, I was still recording in 480p at the time. I didn't do my No Miss R-Type Final recording until summer 2017 when I had a device that let me plug composite cables into a device with an HDMI output, which is why my video for that game is 1080p. All that said, I love R-Type in general, and am happy to have been able to make this video set.
That said, the Ship Showcase for R-Type Final 2 is almost finished as of now, with only a few videos left in the set. I don't know when I'll get around to making more ship videos, but I need a break from the game for a while. I was playing RTF2 for almost two solid months when I made the No Miss video on R-Typer and then I started the Ship Showcase Playlist shortly afterward. I have a few videos left and then I don't know if I'll get around to making more. I hope everyone's enjoyed this Ship Showcase so far.
