Here's a no death run of the first loop of Raiden (雷電), playing the true Japanese version of the game that has checkpoints, (similar to Gradius). I make it past the first loop without dying but things really start going south in loop 2. This is a realtime playthrough using MAME, and my final score was just shy of 4 million points.

This is an old run of mine (circa 2016?) that I never bothered to upload, mostly because I wasn't thrilled about it and really wanted to try for a 2-ALL. At this point, I will probably never revisit the first Raiden again so I figured having something up was better than nothing.

Another reason I didn't put this up earlier was that there is a graphical glitch early on that persists throughout the entire run. Namely, if you bomb the stage 3 boss at a certain point, there is a bug in MAME where certain graphics will remain on screen. In this case, there was an annoying box sitting around the entire run.

Anyway, the REAL reason for me posting this video is mostly to tease that after a long hiatus, I will be coming back with new videos. So stay tuned, because I will have another, brand new run of one of my favorite games coming out in the next few days.
