To get the secret ending: During the final cutscene of Rail Chase 2, holding 1P and 2P start while holding down the trigger and rapidly rotating the joystick will cause the crosshair to reappear. Shooting down the plane will trigger a hidden ending/credits sequence.

The game's time takes place in 1938 A.D. In the game, the EKKL Empire kidnaps a prominent scientist named Mary Bates. The EKKL Emperor holds her in his base forcing her to develop weapons so he and his army could conquer the world with their military might.
A Journalist named Flint Rickman sets out to rescue Mary, but when the empire's weapons plant explodes, the pair are forced to escape EKKL in a runaway rail car.

The game was played with two joysticks that controlled the crosshairs on screen.

While following the rail tracks you have to gun down various enemies soldiers in rail carts, soldiers standing on the side of the track, vehicles and bosses.
Occasionally you come across med packs on the side of the rails that can be shot to regain health. Different routes can be taken to escape.
