Dungeon Antiqua is an Indie, Retro RPG take on Final Fantasy 1 and Wizardry!
With Random Dungeons!
Wow!

FF1 + Wizardry + Roguelike!
Oh my!
As someone who grew up playing the old Final Fantasy games, seeing a fresh take on them set in a roguelike dungeon settings sounds great!

Like FF1, you have the top down perspective, the side on, line based combat, and the Vancian Magic like system of the original Final Fantasy.

While from Wizardly, we get the dungeon traps, 1 way teleporters, chest traps, the false walls, one way walls and doors, as well as the advanced classes: the Bishop, the Lord, the Samurai, and the Ninja.
Oh ya.

Plus, from the roguelike influence, we get Procedural Generation of the dungeons, providing a fresh dungeon to explore every run, helping to keep things interesting, and make exploration more exciting.

A Light, Approachable Roguelike:
In Dungeon Antiqua, you can save in town, and load back to town if you die, so there is no permadeath here, in case that is something that puts you off roguelikes.
Also, once you make it back to the surface, you are healed for free, and the temple can bring back your dead characters for little cost.
So, if the high punishment of typical roguelikes puts you off, Dungeon Antiqua could be a good game for you.

Controller Support is present and good, while mouse and keyboard control is flat out not possible, as there is no current mouse support.
Nor are rebindable keys present.
So, it’s either two hands on keyboard, or a gamepad here.
Thankfully, the gamepad controls feel good.

Anyway, Dungeon Antiqua is an Indie, Retro RPG take on FF1 and Wizardry, with Random Dungeons!
It feels great!

Dungeon Antiqua is easily well worth a wishlist and a watch.
