THYSIASTERY is an Indie, Turn Based, Retro RPG Dungeon Crawler: It’s a Wizardry like.
A Wizardry like that comes with Random Dungeon Levels!
Nice!
A Wizardry like Dungeon Crawler + Random Generation?
Yes.
THYSIASTERY is a First Person Bloober (the party sticks together and moves as a blob) with turn based combat, so it nails the general Wizardry like feel.
Unlike Wizardry, THYSIASTERY’s dungeons are made with Procedural Generation, helping to insure each adventure feels fresh, as you never know exactly where monsters, treasure, or the exit will be.
The Shape of This RPG:
In THYSIASTERY, you start with a random party of 2, and rescue additional companions from the cages of the dungeon, with a max party size of 4, as opposed to the 6 in the Wizardry games.
However, here you can teach some character skills of 1 character to another over time; a very nice addition, as why wouldn’t the party members try to help each other improve?
You can also find items that permanently boost character stats, allowing some more player control over the party’s development in a very Might and Magic, barrel drinking like way; fun.
Note: This is an early look at the demo for THYSIASTERY, so any bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product.
Still, THYSIASTERY is an Indie, Turn Based, Retro RPG Dungeon Crawler Wizardry like with Random Dungeons lvls, and is easily worth a wishlist and a watch if you like dungeon crawlers.
I do.
