As part of the 'Fisher of Fish' stranger mission given by Jeremy Gill in Gill Landing, New Hanover, you have the opportunity to catch 13 'legendary' versions of each fish species. To catch these you need to use either a special lake, river or swamp lure (all available from the Lagras store).
The Steelhead Trout can be found in the far north, near a waterfall at the head of the Kamassa River. Use the special river lure for this. It was the hardest fish for me so far to hook. It took several casts and some patience. It's a big fish at 29 lbs, so it takes a while to reel in
Definitely save after this one if you're planning to just ride back to Annesburg. I thought it'd be simple but got ambushed by a cougar and died, only to find the trout had disappeared from my horse. Had to go and catch it again afterwards :(
