British and Afghan soldiers have seized record numbers of weapons caches throughout Afghanistan since the beginning of the year. Joint patrols discovered most of them in the southern part of the country. Col Radmanish, Afghan National Army executive officer of parliamentary, said the local population helped Afghan forces locate several weapons caches throughout the country by calling into tip lines and reporting caches to local authorities. He expressed optimism local Afghans are feeling more secure and trusting of Afghan forces protecting them.
