The Royal Marines does not permit women to join as a Commando, although in recent years they have been admitted to the band service. British Forces News looks into the story of a determined young woman, Hannah Snell who managed to join up, in disguise and live amongst men at sea, undetected, for two years. Hannah's course of action was extreme: she disguised herself as a man, and assumed the name of her brother in law, James Grey.
