3LIFO (Last In, First Out) is a popular inventory valuation method where the most recently purchased items are sold first. In Odoo 18, you can configure this strategy to automatically select the oldest stock for outgoing operations.
How to Set Up LIFO:
Enable Lot Tracking:
Go to Inventory -- Configuration -- Settings.
Under the Inventory tab, enable Track Lots.
Configure Removal Strategy:
Product Category Level:
Go to Inventory -- Configuration -- Product Categories.
Select the desired product category and set the Force Removal Strategy to Last In, First Out (LIFO).
Location Level:
Go to Inventory -- Configuration -- Locations.
Select the desired location and set the Removal Strategy to Last In, First Out (LIFO).
How LIFO Works in Practice:
When you create a delivery order or a manufacturing order, Odoo will automatically select the most recent stock for the operation. This means that the oldest stock will remain in the warehouse until it's the last one available.
