About Game: Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (Also known as Biohazard: The Last Escape in Japan) is 1999 third-person fixed camera survival horror video game developed and published by Capcom for Sony PlayStation, Sega Dreamcast and Windows-based PCs and was also re-released on Nintendo GameCube alongside 1998 version of Resident Evil 2 in 2003. It is considered to be one of the classic Resident Evil games despite this entry introducing multiple action game elements that started to slowly distance the series from its survival horror roots, a pattern repeated in subsequent titles, 2000's Resident Evil: Code Veronica and 2002's Resident Evil Zero, culuminating in the release of Resident Evil 4 in 2005 whose success marked the beginning of a whole new, action-oriented era for the series that ended in 2017 following the release of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard that reintroduced horror-oriented experience into the series. Despite this, RE3 is one of the most beloved games in the franchise with its main antagonist, Nemesis becoming one of the fan-favorite villains within the series and one of the regulars on various lists counting down the best or scariest video game antagonists. Due to its success, this game was remade from ground-up for eight generation of consoles and modern PCs and released in 2020, introducing updated character designs, modern gameplay elements and updated storyline, the remake being praised for its atmosphere and sound design, but being criticized for the lack of content and shortened storyline in comparison to the original.
Story of the game takes place during the period of three days between September 28th and October 1st, 1998 and follows Jill Valentine, former S.T.A.R.S. member and one of five survivors of the incident in Arklay mountains that took place two months prior. Over the course of those two months, S.T.A.R.S. was disbanded due to Arklay survivors prodding for truth regarding Umbrella Corporation's involvement in the creation of the monsters that they had encountered there with Barry Burton and Rebecca Chambers leaving Raccoon City and disappearing and Chris Redfield heading out to Europe to pursue further leads about Umbrella's illegal experiments there while Jill and ex-Alpha Team pilot Brad Vickers stayed in Raccoon City, Jill running solo investigation into Umbrella's local activities and Brad trying to lay low to evade losing his job in RPD. However, the situation for both of them becomes infinitely worse as T-Virus outbreak starts in the city during late September, zombifying its residents and causing widespread violence as the city slowly falls apart, with Umbrella sending in their own mercenaries to assist in containing the zombies. By the evening of September 28th, five days after the start of the outbreak, majority of the Raccoon City's population is already dead or zombified with Jill being one of the rare survivors. However, her bad luck as she fights to stay alive in the city dominated by undead is about to turn even worse as she runs into Brad who reveals that there is some sort of creature hunting specifically for them, the only two S.T.A.R.S. members still in Raccoon City. Upon reaching RPD station, Jill runs into Brad again and two are confronted by the creature, a hulking, intelligent Tyrant-like monstrosity with an objective of killing them both. After it brutally kills Brad, Jill decides to hide in the station, monster still hot on her trail...
