0Jill returns to the train, using the oil and electrical parts that she found in downtown to repair its engine, also notifying Carlos of Nicholai's death in the sales office. However, peaceful train ride is soon stopped as the monster pursuing Jill somehow gets onboard, with wounded Mikhail using his rifle to try and hold it off, ultimately resorting to a suicide attack with a grenade whose explosion throws the monster out but also causes the train's breaks to stop working, sending it on an unstoppable collision course with its destination; Saint Michael Clock Tower with Jill and Carlos leaping out of the train just before it crashes. Exploring the tower, Jill learns that the monster survived the confrontation aboard the train as it starts chasing her through the tower's interior, even surviving the attempted electrocution by Jill. Despite this, she is able to activate the clock tower's bell, signaling the UBCS extraction helicopter to come and pick her and Carlos up. However, her relief is short lived as the monster uses its rocket launcher to shoot the helicopter down as it approaches the tower before confronting Jill personally. With no way out due to helicopter debris blocking the courtyard exit, Jill is forced to face the monster in direct combat, being infected by the T-Virus as the monster uses one of its tentacles to stab her. Despite this disadvantage, Jill is able to best her pursuer after a brief fight in the clock tower courtyard, causing him to collapse into the fire from the debris before she collapses as well, being severely weakened by the T-Virus in her system, quickly being found by Carlos who takes her back to the small chapel within the clock tower and tries nursing her back to health. During the night on October 1st, nearly three days after her fight with the monster, Jill finally regains conciousness but is still incapacitated, with Carlos promising that he will find a way to save her life...
