Resident Evil 2 (1998) Walkthrough Part 1: Two Survivors (INTRO)
0Resident Evil is still going strong on this channel, dear gamers, now with arguably one of the most beloved games in the series, the original 1998 version of Resident Evil 2! Just like my walkthrough of 2019 remake of this game uploaded earlier this summer, i will try to combine both Claire's and Leon's scenarios into one cohesive story along the line of canon Claire A/Leon B combination, a feat which should be easier to achieve here due to the better design of B scenarios.
About Game: Resident Evil 2 (Known as Biohazard 2 in Japan) is 1998 third-person fixed camera survival horror video game developed and published by Capcom for Sony PlayStation and Windows-based PCs with later releases for Nintendo 64, Sega Dreamcast and even Tiger Electronics' GameCom handheld console as well as for Nintendo GameCube where it was bundled with Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. It is a second mainline entry in Resident Evil video game series and a direct sequel to 1996's Resident Evil. Upon release, Resident Evil 2 was praised for updating gameplay mechanics of the original games as well as for its story. Owing to its popularity and prominent status in the gaming history, this game was remade from ground-up for eight generation of consoles and modern PCs in 2019, introducing updated storyline, enhanced graphics and fully overhauled gameplay elements.
Story of the game is set during the night of September 29th, 1998, approximately two months after the events of original Resident Evil and follows two protagonists, Leon Scott Kennedy, a young rookie police officer who had come to Raccoon City to start working for the local police force and Claire Redfield, a student and a younger sister of Chris Redfield who had come to Raccoon City looking for him after his disappearance shortly after he escaped the mansion in Arklay mountains, both finding themselves in the middle of a zombie outbreak that has been ravaging the city for days. Upon meeting by chance while fending off zombies, Leon and Claire head for the local police station, believing it to be the safe haven. However, after a zombie causes their car to crash into a wall and a truck operated by zombified truck driver crashes into it, explosion that separates the two occurs, forcing them to go to the station on their own...
