This is the first video in a series where I rebuild a retro 80286 based PC. Such a PC was actual the first computer I used, so it has some nostalgic value to me. Also, those machines are both simple enough to understand quite a bit of the inner workings, but yet also are complex enough to run interesting games and software.

As with all old things these components are becoming quite rare and expensive. Hence I searched eBay for a couple of months and found these parts that I will be using:

* PWA-286C mainboard with 1 MB RAM and a 80286 CPU at 10 MHz
* Trident 8900C SVGA card with 1MB RAM (or maybe 512KB?)
* Winbond based multi I/O card with IDE and FDC interface, game port, serial and parallel ports
* DeLock CompactFlash to IDE converter
* ATX to AT power supply connector
* DIN to PS/2 keyboard connector (not shown)
* New old stock Fujitsu-Siemens PS/2 Keyboard
* 400W modular ATX power supply with AT style Molex connectors (for the DeLock and any old drives I want to attach)

I will eventually put this all together and hopefully have a running system. I will also follow up with soldering the AdLib rebuild and have a neat 1991 gaming machine!
