Rise of the Ronin - Bladesmith prologue boss fight
0This Rise of the Ronin game guide video shows the first boss battle in the game - you must defeat the Bladesmith as part of your combat training (Veiled Edge Village main quest in the prologue).
Try to focus on deflecting Bladesmith's weapon attacks using Countersparks (Triangle button). Make sure to perform a separate counter if the boss is landing several hits in a row.
Successful counterparks help in raising the enemy's panic gauge and drain their Ki. Use Martial Skills attacks when that happens (R1 + one of the attack buttons).
Each time the Bladesmith's stance has been broken a red icon will appear and you can perform a Critical Hit (Triangle button) to inflict more damage.
Don't forget that you can switch between the twins (L1+up on the dpad). You can also heal your character and dodge (in any direction - Circle button) instead of using counters.
You won't kill the Bladesmith. The training ends after depleting the boss's main bar.
