From an excellent movie tie in game to a port of a 16 bit classic!
This is Road Rash on Sega Master System. The original Road Rash by EA was a smash hit on Sega's 16 bit Megadrive with it's mix of racing & fighting & impressive graphics engine. Porting it to an 8 bit machine seemed improbable at best but its a fantastic conversion. Converted by Probe & published by US Gold. It really does the original justice & is extremely impressive. It retains much of the graphical flair & the structure & gameplay. You can still grab clubs from rival racers, you still get busted by the police & you can still upgrade your bike. I play a few Level 1 races on th starter bike then show a clip of Level 5 on the Diablo 1000 although I wipe out in a crash and get busted - although this does help show the game mechanics :-)
This is my original PAL copy from back in the day played through a Powerbase convertor on my CDX/MultiMega through a Retrotink 5X for ease of capture. As you can see from the picture I actually have two cover variants for this one.
