I love how my runs as of late have been reaching personal goal times in the most obtuse ways possible.

Today marks the return of Puresabe's Mega Man 7 gimmick hack, Rockman 7 Bean Lover. It's another "Burst Bean" speedrun using the special "Burst Chaser" option that is in the game to add extra speed to slides and slide jumps along with the game's default gimmick of having the Mega Buster literally shoot bullets like a high-powered fire hose and all the extra functions that come with it.

I usually go into detail as to how the run went, but this run was a bit too much like a rollercoaster to go over every aspect of what went wrong and what went right. So, I'll just say, take a look at the video yourself and you can easily see how some thing got off the rails, but still held itself together to get sub-18 in both RTA and IGT conditions which was my primary goal when messing around with this game nearly a year ago (...man, time flies). Once again, it's a testament as to no matter how wildly silly a speedrun can get, always try to make the effort to complete your runs. You may be surprised at the end results. (That said, I will say it's funny how I got the worst AND best Spring Man fights in my life in this one video. That alone shows how erratic this run went.)

Overall, in spite of all the execution flubs that were quite uncharacteristic of my standard of gameplay at this level, you just got to take the bad with the good, and there was enough good to be satisfied with the final time. This is especially true when said run still reaches a milestone time. At least, this means that if I decide to come back to the game again, or if someone finds some interest in trying to get a higher time, there is plenty of time to gain for any takers to go for it.

So yeah, I think it's time to hang this one up as well, and move on once again to new and/or maybe return to older speedrunning ventures. However, I think I need a break, lol. I don't think I had a break from speedrunning since I started back in late 2011/early 2012 There is so much out there in the world of Mega Man games, be it official, indie, clones, fan-made, romhacks, etc. that speedrunning options are very, very vast. However, every once in a while, one may need to just step back and get some breathing room back, so I'm going to try and do just that. It's that or make myself a liar and train on another potential speedgame on the side, lol. Regardless, until the next time I post a run up, enjoy this one. If there are any questions, feel free to ask, and take care.

You will need to provide your own Rockman 7 (not Mega Man 7) rom to attach the Bean Lover file onto as I will not provide one here for obvious legal reasons.
