Rockman Battle & Fighters (NGPC) English Translated Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Capcom's 2000 arcade action/fighting game for the Neo Geo Pocket Color, Rockman Battle & Fighters.
Played through on the default difficulty. The Japanese text has all been translated into English and superimposed over the original. This is not a hacked rom - just a lot of time spent with a video editor.
Mega Man: The Power Battle is the first game, and the video shows all three paths played through.
Mega Man: The Power Fighters begins at 25:00.
Rockman Battle & Fighters is quite a literal title for this game. It's quite literally a port down of both Mega Man Power Battles and Mega Man Power Fighters, Capcom's two spin-off Mega Man arcade titles from the mid-90s. The Neo Geo Pocket Color clearly could not handle the coin-ops impressive graphics, so it instead adapts a style that hovers somewhere between 8 and 16-bit. The characters are big and well detailed, the backgrounds are loaded with color, and the baddies still have their funny facial expressions when you hit them in their weak spots. The songs are the same, though they've been re-remixed for the hardware.
The most surprising thing about this title, like so many other fighters on the NGPC, is that the gameplay is nearly identical to the arcade title - it's not compromised in the slightest, which is pretty mind-blowing.
It's a shame this never got a US release, but it's hardly a surprise. If Sonic didn't sell, they probably didn't think MM would fare any better. And, by the time this game came out, support for the US system was all but officially dead.
So it goes. It's a fantastic game, and I hope you enjoy the playthrough and the translation. It was a huge pain to make :p And my bad for any mistakes. Though I'm pretty sure it the translation itself is accurate, I make no guarantees ;)
