(Skip to 35:30 mark for end results of several tests and failures, after my first initial success not on video, the other failures were initial boost launch ideas to get it up to speed faster for air intakes on the air breather mode on the Rapier engines).

Kerbal Space Program Space plane concept, first time getting something to really get to orbit (for a space plane), needs to be improved on, based loosely on the Thunderbolt class Starfury from Babylon 5, but takes off vertically like rockets, no landing functions, can fire "Missiles" from pylons on wings.

Just an idea and experiment. Not meant as a serious space plane at least not in this form.

Only only successful space plane I had, was a small more traditional fix wing design, but was a bit touchy in controls and handling.

This one on other hand, as long as your at around 300-400 m/s its handles much more safer, sometimes hard to turn/pitch/yaw, but its not overly sensitive, anything beyond that, good luck turning with out ripping it apart.

Part of that success, could be from the updated game engine for the game, all other attempts were on original engine from back when this was an early access alpha game on Steam.

I was just in awe that it was stable launching, and flying at angle up, able to control it with out it tumbling out of control, like when I attached the large booster liquid fuel rocket mid way through video...

The fact that a design based on a Sci Fi TV Show works better than some more real world inspired designs is a bit surprising too.
