S T A L K E R: Call of Pripyat - ( 2022 ) Video #136: Emission Firefight
Call of Pripyat has this strange glitch related to fast travel. When you get a squad of 2 to 3 NPCs that you use for fast travel, once you arrive at your destination, the squad leader will turn around and go back where he came from unless it's after 1800, where they would return to the Skadovsk or Yanov Station. The glitch is where 1 or 2 of that squad ( without the squad leader ) would freeze in place just outside where you jumped to. It's like they are in a trance, and you have to go up to them physically and attempt to talk to them for them to snap out of it and then they will start walking back where they came from.
This just happened and, in this video, I am watching the lone NPC walk from the Skadovsk back to the Northern Lake where I met him. I decide to follow him, and I get ahead of him to find the squad leader just killed by 2 Zombies. In my mini-map, the green dot for this NPC changes to a green star upon the death of the squad leader, making him the new squad leader.
From there I go to the northern hill and then down, looking in the bushes for an open stash I know is somewhere in the area, but I don't find yet. I go up the hill past the Controller Cave and take the road going towards the Saw Mill where I meet new Zombies. From there I meet several Bandits outside the Saw Mill, where they follow me to, and I spend some time snooping around when an Emission hits.
The nearest shelter is a drainage tunnel outside the Swamp and the Bandits show up soon. I detect a squad of Loners above us, expecting a fight in the tunnel but I soon realize there is a firefight above us on the road. I don't hear mutants so it must be Zombies or bandits in the distance. I get pinned against the wall by the Bandits, forcing me to reload a Manual Save to escape their containment. After the Emission I exit to find a lone Zombie ( two were dead ) and I loot them and the 3 dead Loners.
From there, now with a full load of loot, I head east towards the Skadovsk. I cross the backwater and I go up the hill along the pipeline and at the top I turn to the left and see going up the road to the Burnt Farmstead, the backend of a Chimera. What lucky timing it didn't see me, and I didn't run into it a few moments early face to face. I quickly continue on arriving with great relief back onboard the Skadovsk.
