Sam Valentino Reviews the "Inspector Gadget: Curse of the Pharaoh" Read Along
Today marks the 40th anniversary of the premiere of one of my favorite animated shows growing up: "Inspector Gadget". The first North American animated TV series from both DiC and Nelvana, and one of the first 65-episode animated TV series made for first-run syndication, no less! (Alongside "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe," another show Shuki Levy and Haim Saban did the music for!) So of course, I decided to commemorate that anniversary by having that private toon detective fox, Sam Valentino (who's a far better detective than that bumbling Gadget), take a look at the 1984 read-along book-and-audio adaptation of the episode "Curse of the Pharaoh", whose recording actually uses the actual episode soundtrack with new narration added. While a bit cheaply produced, it was a good way to re-enjoy the episode before it eventually came out on video.
