Last week, I told you about the Linux Samba vulnerability known as SambaCry, which allows bad guys to perform remote code execution attacks against Linux servers. Crytocurrency mining is a profitable business, so it's no wonder that the bad guys want in on the action. The good news, is that this is easily preventable. If you're a Linux administrator, you should already know how to do it. And, we also point to an article about how to prevent the attacks on Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems. We also mention how to do it on Debian, Ubuntu, SuSe, and Arch Linux systems.
