This is an example test video of the Samsung Galaxy 3 Apollo GT-I5800D Android 2.2 FroYo Smartphone video camera camcorder feature, recording in 320 X 240 quality setting.
In order to compare and contrast the different quality settings of this mobile handset, two different example test videos were taken using the Samsung Galaxy 3 Apollo GT-I5800D Android 2.2 FroYo cellphone (all available on my YouTube channel) namely in 176 X 144 and 320 X 240 quality settings.
Both quality settings were encoded by the device using the MPEG-4 Video (mp4v) video codec, producing a .3GP file for each video. The audio records in mono and uses the AMR Narrow Band (samr) codec at 8000 Hz, 32 bits per sample.
The 176 X 144 quality setting produced a video resolution of 176 X 144 at 13.99 frames per second (FPS) and weighed in at 581 kb of disk space for 21 seconds of video.
The 320 X 240 quality setting produced a video resolution of 320 X 240 at 14 frames per second (FPS) and weighed in at 2,661 kb of disk space for 29 seconds of video.
Despite the significant difference in file size and video resolution between the 176 X 144 and 320 X 240 capture formats, video capture resolution, frame rate and audio capture quality on both formats were overall unimpressive. Needless to say, the 176 X 144 capture format showed the most MPEG compression grainyness / blockyness of both formats.
