Samurai Deeper Kyo [PS1] - play as Mukuro
This is a demonstration of Mukuro in the PS1 version of Samurai Deeper Kyo. Read on below for more information...
Mukuro is the last boss in the game, and he is an unlockable playable character. However he cannot be used in Story mode.
For this video I have made a demonstration of his moves and a match against an opponent.
===== About Mukuro =====
He looks to be one of those classic 'possessed-by-evil-spirit' zombie-type designs with the trademark red eyes. We've seen it with the likes of Demon Gaoh and Rasetsumaru.
He is quite a powerful character with some decent special moves, but he is rather slow, and the fact that he cannot crouch nor dash/run makes him a bit 'stiff'.
===== About SDK =====
Samurai Deeper Kyo is a very stylish game indeed... the artwork, sprites, animation and voice-acting are top-notch, and would definitely not look out of place when placed alongside some of Capcom's and SNK's past 2D fighters.
The game has quite an in-depth story mode for each of the regular characters, they uniquely interact with each other with dialogue from the voice acting. Additionally, this interaction is also used for the before and after matches in the other modes.
The gameplay is solid, with good hit-detection and hit-pause. You will not find any quarter-circle or dragon punch motions in this game though.
The music is also very well composed, and is fitting of the period the game is set in.
This game is of course, based on the Japanese manga/anime series of the same name. The characters seem to be represented excellently in the game through the in-fight sprites, artwork, and voice acting.
A high quality game that is very rounded off and complete.
