That version has most of the deaths edited out. I completed the PC version right after this Switch port. The final boss was the main challenge.
Great game. Beating Normal Mode gives a bad ending and prompts you to restart the game, however I would still consider this beating the game on Normal, since this is all that mode offers. I believe Hardcore Mode has to be completed to unlock the true ending. Hardcore Mode is not only harder but doesnt replenish any health , no checkpoints and is limited to 3 lives and no continues.
