[SC2 MOD DEVELOPMENT TEST 009] - ARIM - New Feature: Upgrade Weapon on a Planetary Fortress
The following is just an example of how you can customize your units in this mod.
The money/build time are accelerated for demo purpose.
The Planetary Fortress is buffed by Upgrade Weapon, which add the anti ground cannon of the sieged tank, the anti air of the Thor in heavy payload mode, and the missiles of the Missile Turret.
The Biomass buff just add damage, life, size and the glowing that makes the buffed unit immediately recognizable.
After the Mothership came I also added the Detector buff, which increases sight, weapon range and add Detector (as the name imply).
The total cost would be:
1 (base Planetary Fortress)
+1 (Upgrade Weapon)
+6 (Biomass)
+1 (Detector)
= 9 times a regular Planetary
It looks strong but in the end it will fall against appropriate counters like Immortals.
As you can see the attacks form the AI are relentless, even if you win a battle there is always another wave behind it until you destroy every enemy building.
Base units are always more cost-effective, but heroic units scratch the itch of having big powerful champions like in coop.
