This part is about the Dark Forest, which is infamous for its length. The monsters themselves aren't threatening, just juggle your charged attacks to the best of your ability. My first practice run through this place had me finally realize that context dependency is what gives game developers in general problems with balancing burst damage, because it's less useful compared to DPS the less spaced out damage dealing moments are. Still, the Dark Forest becomes infamous because it has an alchemy spell (One Up, which actually just fully heals the tartget--and "tartget" means "user" so says I after having long defined "practise" as "to prepare by training in potentially fatal circumstances") well out of way of the beaten path. Ironically, the Dark Forest DOES mark the correct path with Greebles, but has the issue that sniff locations are placed without rhyme or reason and several dead ends don't have them but clearly on-the-way screens do. So yes, it IS worth calling out the Dark Forest for execution issues when the cracks in the wall show up so readily.
As for the Bad Boy fight, I personally opt to try to Boy solo the 3 Bad Boys out of flavor, although the Bad Boys, although they are involved in Mook Chivalry (you fight only one at a time) will attack Private Hazard in their cowardly strikes. Good thing I have One Up and I'm not banning it, especially when they're going to cause arbitrary Misses via their 30 Evade. I don't have to ban One Up when it can only heal the Boy, and thus I can commit the rest of my healing resources to the Dog, who under this challenge isn't allowed to be KOed anyway.
What I do is have the Bad Boy chase me around the terrain while charging up my L3 attack to use it to catch the Bad Boy at the start of his own attack. Obviously, I'm using the terrain as an AI Breaker, but I guarantee that Private Hazard would have just ate through their HP if I let him join in on the attack. Of course, with that wretched 30 Evade and the Bad Boys' fleet of foot movement, I'm inevitably going to have to keep an eye on my HP to make sure I don't get sucker punched into hearing the slowed down sleeping music exclusive to the Game Over screen, which I only avoided happen to me and losing a full hour because the Bad Boy had made the alchemy spell casting multi-target.
Oh, and yes, alchemy spells. Each Bad Boy has an attack alchemy spell to use, the first using Crush, the second using Storm, and the third using Nitro, so they get progressively more powerful. Let their shenanigans here be foreshadowing for a later threat, I'll let you guess who. Ironically, the Bad Boys abuse casting invincibility to make sure you can't hit them if they suddenly start casting, which won't be a problem with the later threat. Said later threat will be problematic for OTHER reasons, believe me.
But either way, enjoy the show, even if people will likely be Just Here For Godzilla.
