(See Description) AMD Smart Access Memory (SAM) Comparison on AMD RX 5500 XT 4GB - Hitman 3
Greetings!
This is my first time using Premier Pro so I am sorry if the video look very stupid (hehe).
Now let me get into the main part. As you can see in the video, the videogame, HITMAN 3, running very "not fine" while the Smart Access Memory (SAM) is turned on but running very "fine" while the SAM is turned off.
While I don't have other video card to test with (eg. RX 6000 series, first AMD GPU series to support AMD or GPU with 8GB VRAM or GPU with PCIe x16 4.0), SAM might not benefit the RX 5500 XT 4GB at all so you just turn it off from the BIOS and keep playing like before or else.
But from what I've seen, only game with DirectX 12 suffers alot with SAM turned ON. In my testing, HITMAN 3, running on DirectX 12, does not have option to choose which DirectX to use as in HITMAN 2, which I also did test with HITMAN 2 on DirectX 12 + SAM turned ON and STUTTER AS HELL. On the other hand, HITMAN 2 on DirectX 11 + SAM turned ON is SMOOTH AS HELL.
*time limited*
--GAME DELETED (HITMAN 2)--
Below is the spec of the PC.
Ryzen 5 5600X
RX5500XT 4GB
16GB DDR4 3200MHz
Kingston A2000 500GB -- HITMAN 3 installed here
P.S.: Reason I choose The Showstopper mission as test is because I just bought this game and don't want to spoil it haha...
