This video was captured using the actual game on an actual Sega Saturn. Loading times have been removed for your consideration and enjoyment.

Where do I start? I played this game in the arcades every time I had a chance. I remember thinking while I was playing the arcade that it would have been impossible to for Sega to ever release a game like this on their Saturn console. After all, Daytona USA was a model 2 game as well and it wasn't even close to the arcade. Look out, because the same team that ported Virtua Cop to the Saturn had their hands in this game as well. What came out was an extremely faithful port of the arcade. The game runs at a constant 30 frames per second and has some of the best visuals on the Saturn. This may sound silly, but the controls are spot on and the arcade used a force feedback steering wheel. That's how good the controls are. The sound effects are straight from the arcade and the music is some of the best music ever recorded in the video game industry. It's leaps and bounds better than the arcade. Like Virtua Cop, the fact that the graphics were inferior to the arcade was not even a factor. The game looked great compared to any console at the time. Plus this game has the most legendary game over screen ever made. Whether you win or you lose, you'll never get tired of hearing "Game over YEAH!"

I played this on my brother's Saturn back in the day and when he left home, so did Sega Rally. As some of you may know I was a Playstation guy. It didn't bother me a whole lot back then, but last year I had an opportunity to get a Saturn, and quite a few games came to mind that were just simply unforgettable. Sega Rally was one of them. I bought the Saturn and got Sega Rally Championship for 5 bucks. I plugged up the Saturn when I got home and turned it on and it was just as much fun if not more than before. If only Sega could have kept up this kind of pace, they could have given Sony a serious run for their money.

Well that console war is over. A Sega Saturn is cheap, and many of it's games are extremely available and not too much money. Even though my Saturn collection is a tiny fraction of what my Playstation collection is, the Saturn had some games that are just amazing.
