The first Contra to ever hit a hand held. However just because it was the first portable Contra doesn't mean it's any lesser than any other game in the series. In fact this is a very good Contra.
I got this game close to when I got my first Game Boy way back when it was launched. Yes. The black and puke green screen. The game seemed a lot harder back in the day, but much of that was most likely due to the horrible motion blur that the model 1 Game Boys suffered from. It wasn't until the Game Boy Pocket was released that we stopped dying from barely being able to see moving objects.
