Seijin Plays Super Mario RPG Armageddon Part 10 : Pipe Vault
1Intro : Super Mario RPG Armageddon is a fanmade hack of Super Mario RPG, by Dark Kefka. Its goal is to make the game more challenging and giving even veterans of the game a run for their money. Not only do monsters get a stat overhaul, but they also get completely new attacks. Additionally, there are countless several difference here and there. Weaponry, magic, items... everything has changed.
This video is a bit of a mini fail. I die at one point, and have to do it all over again. But after that, everything goes fine.
First of all, I get the Talisman. I had no idea what it did at first, so I checked it out. Very nice item. Although it replaces the Hand Gun from vanilla, so Geno remains weaponless for a little bit longer. Then, I move on to Pipe Vault, one of very few optional areas of the game. Unlike vanilla, a Dark Goomba guards its entrance.
I valiantly fight that Dark Goomba with everything I've got. Of course, since it's my first time doing so, I'm testing out which attacks work well and which don't. I quickly found out that Laser is my best option for this battle. Most other attacks are ineffective. He OHKOs my characters most of the time, but it doesn't take that many Lasers to finish him off.
I then foolishly try the fight a fireball monster. Instant game over. Thank you Dark Kefka, I really appreciate that. -_-
In short, the first six minutes of the video are a bit of a waste, because I repeat the process. Since the only thing that is kept upon game over is experience, I have to defeat the Dark Goomba once more. I decided to keep going at this point because of the experience I earned. However, I noticed I had to collect the Talisman once more as well. This time, however, I equipped on Geno so his Laser does more damage. Nyahaha...
After that, I go back to Rose Town to save so that I don't have to fight Dark Goomba again. Pipe Vault goes well. I mostly obtain all the loot I can get, and escape safely to Yo'ster Isle. I also play the "Stomp a goomba" minigame a few times. Yes, it's kind of boring to watch.
