Seijin Plays Super Mario RPG Armageddon Part 18 : Bundt & Story Time
1Intro : Super Mario RPG Armageddon is a fanmade hack of Super Mario RPG, by Dark Kefka. Its goal is to make the game more challenging and giving even veterans of the game a run for their money. Not only do monsters get a stat overhaul, but they also get completely new attacks. Additionally, there are countless several difference here and there. Weaponry, magic, items... everything has changed.
This video covers the cake boss battle, and storyline stuff. Not very interesting after the boss.
If you get all four items before all the candles are lit, Peach kisses Mario. Just saying. It otherwise doesn't change anything, as far as I know.
Anyway, the boss battle. The chefs were working so hard on making the ultimate wedding cake, and they didn't take well the fact that the wedding was cancelled. They attack the party because we ruined the wedding. How nice, huh?
Attacking the chefs does 0 damage, so you should attack the cake. After attacking it for a while, the chefs realize the cake is alive (wonder how that happened...) and run away, and you fight the cake itself.
Its candle become lit, and the goal is to blow them all off by attacking the cake. Damage don't matter at all, so you don't have to use timed hits when attacking at all. Each attack you do on it blows one candle off, and each full turn passed makes one candle lit again. The top of the cake dies once they are all unlit, and you do another attack on it.
After that, victory is incredibly easy because the bottom of the cake is weak. Honestly, this entire boss battle is way too easy. I suggested to Dark Kefka to make it harder, or to add more candles, etc. Some extra events about Booster eating the cake happen once its HP gets to 0.
After that, it's story time due to rescuing the princess at last, but she joins the party. Neat, huh? Wasn't this the first game where she was actually fighting in some way? Anyway, I saved before storming Star Hill.
