This week, on Serious Sunday, Luke talks about an article published lately that purportedly follows in-depth the development history of the undisputed king of crowdfunding successes: Star Citizen and its tumultuous develompent cycle. How a number of factors contributed to its slow development cycle, and how much of that truly can be blamed on Cloud Imperium? He also ponders how the game will be received on release.

With a roadmap far beyond anything even resembling reasonable in scope, expectations on a galactic scale and with its development cycle already taking far longer than expected, are we looking at another No Man's Sky situation where any missing features will be picked apart and burned at the stake, or even another Duke Nukem Forever, where the game will have just too much hype to live up to?

Serious Sunday is a freeform roundtable discussion between the members of the Level 0 NPCs, where a specific topic is pre-selected by the group to be explored and discussed at length. Each of the NPCs approach the topic from both the perspective of a seasoned, die-hard gamer, and as creators of games themselves. Part freeform review, part critical analysis, part video game book club, Serious Sunday is where the NPCs take a step back and take a moment to give a serious look at something that is important to the industry, or games in general.
