Free to play games are easy to obtain which makes them very easy to be discarded as well. This is why it is important to appeal to the users from their very first contact with the product and keep the interest up. Mobile games are products which are alive and are expected to improve and grow during its life time. With all this in mind, I will share with you my experience on designing and tuning mobile games for Ubisoft: what are the mechanisms used to make sure an appealing game is launched? and more importantly, how are games tuned for the users once they are out in the market? We have two main sources of information about players’ preferences and behaviour while a game is live, and we should know how to best obtain this data and use it to shape the user experience that players are looking for. This will result in happy players and a healthy game.
