There is no such thing as “the players”. All players are different. There is no such thing as “the designers”. All designers are different. However, at the moment designers aren’t different enough. Consequently, the games they make aren’t different enough. If you like what they’re making, great! If you don’t, not so great…
Should designers therefore try to make games accessible to a wider audience?
Or should each player seek out designers for whom they’re already the audience?
