Shiny Rayquaza LIVE after 8269 resets & Hoenn Pokédex complete! - Pokémon Sapphire
After capturing Latios in the Southern Island, I started training some of my Pokémon to a high level, similar to Rayquaza. I took the opportunity to train my shiny Swellow that I received last year in a trade session with my Pokémon Ruby and also Lanturn, from my second Pokémon Emerald received by trade at level 49 (Ahoip JK). Sceptile was close to leveling up, so I leveled it up in the Victory Road facing Wally and wild Pokémon.
Once prepared, I went to buy all types of Pokéballs up to 99 of each type and some X Attack items. I was doing an average of 1200 daily resets so it took me a week. When I was recording my penultimate recording of the day, I came across it just 4 minutes into the recording. I could not believe it, once again, I found a shiny Pokémon live at that time, when my parents were at home and with the battery near to run out. I had to take all my stuff to my room and try to capture it in less time than I could continue recording.
Unfortunately my batteries ran out and I couldn't keep recording, so I had to keep off camera. It took me a long time to capture it, it was even so late that I had to have dinner while trying to capture Rayquaza. Rayquaza fainted my Sceptile two or three times more for each "Struggle" critical hit. I used 4 or more Leepa berries so Sceptile could continue to use "False Swipe". I got to a point where I had to use Sceptile's "Quick Attack" which ended up running out, I even used his "Absorb" a few times and all to save me some Leepa berries. I even tried to record 5 minutes with the mobile that was recharging to try to capture it live, but nothing. In the end I caught it, after all. It took me about 2 hours/2 and a half hours to capture it and I ended up using a total of 196 Pokéballs and 1 Superball (by accident). Not even with both batteries fully recharged, I could have captured it live. As I did not want to take photos again for the end of the video, I waited until there was silence in the room so I could shoot the last video and show you Rayquaza.
This was, without a doubt, the longest catch of a shiny Pokémon. The toughest battle to finish completing the Hoenn Pokédex and also getting, for the first time in my life, the Gold Trainer Card. It has been very exciting to see that I fulfilled my dream after so many years and in this way. This has been just the beginning of many unforgettable moments that I hope will come one day and that I can share with you.
