Speaking to Star-news Korea (via Slash Film), Ryan Reynolds said that he thinks Deadpool 3 is unlikely, and that the next appearance of the character would be in an X-Force movie. He said: “For Deadpool 3, you know, it’s an odd thing to say but I don’t think there will be a Deadpool 3. I think going forward it would be an X-Force movie, which would be his team, so to speak.”
Variety reporter Justin Kroll revealed yesterday that Marvel Studios has met with over 65 directors for the directing job on Black Widow. He wrote: Fun fact: More than 65 directors have met for the Black Widow job. Marvel being extremely thorough on this one.
According to The Wrap, Mel Gibson wants to cast his Daddy’s Home 2 co-star Mark Wahlberg for a key role in his next directing project, the WWII drama Destroyer. The indie, which is targeting a fall production start, centers on the Battle of Okinawa in April, 1945 when the USS Laffey withstood 22 kamikaze attacks and earned the nickname “The Ship That Would Not Die.”
Jake Gyllenhaal’s production company Nine Stories announced yesterday that True Detective helmer Cary Fukunaga and Gyllenhaal are teaming for a new movie based on the life of legendary composer Leonard Bernstein. Entitled The American, the screenplay comes from Michael Mitnick (Vinyl) and is based on the biography Leonard Bernstein by Humphrey Burton.
THR has learned that Isabela Moner (Transformers: The Last Knight, Sicario: Day of the Soldado) has been cast as Dora in Dora the Explorer; Paramount Pictures’ live-action movie based on the popular Nickelodeon series, which is set to release on August 2, 2019.
