This is the Vicious Circle ending, which you can get by building up points with Maria by doing certain actions throughout the game. These include: not letting enemies attack her when you have to escort her to places, not hitting her, not inspecting Mary's photo or letter in your inventory, check on her multiple times in the Hospital after she lies down on the bed (you get two different cutscenes), using the Ripe Apple at the mirror puzzle in Lakeview Hotel, and not listening to all of Mary's spoken dialog as you run down the long hallway in Lakeview hotel (before the boss fight). If you did all of this, you should get the Maria ending!
