Inspired by nostalgia, I fired up Siren for the first time in years. And I was shocked by how bad the controls were! Not to mention the brutal difficulty... Regardless, while I was in the neighborhood, I felt time was ripe to update at least one of my old handheld cam videos from 2007. The chosen video for this project was this creative if also silly challenge run I did of Tamon's Day 1, 02:00, and I managed to improve my final time on it too!

The rules for this challenge are as follows:

- Flashlight Always On (anti-stealth)
- Pacifist (no hurting enemies)
- No Damage

You may guess these rules spell trouble for a survival horror character. You basically become a walking target, and having a slightly daft escort with you (no offense to Yoriko) doesn't really make things easier. The level has to be played in a very precise way or else the challenge fails miserably.

First off: getting over stone bridge is the fastest route into the level. You can use a nearby tree to block shots to get past the sniper. (Using the river bottom is also an alternative, but far riskier since there's the other gun Shibito targeting you nearby. Not to mention slower.)

Then it's running deeper into the level. You alert almost every other enemy on the way because you have flashlight on. But in the case of one patroller, it's good he becomes alerted early because this way he starts moving away from where you'll be in just 15 seconds.

I use the ramps for getting up so that Yoriko the escort can keep up with Tamon easier.

The old lady Shibito has to be lured downstairs or else she will damage either Tamon or Yoriko at the top of the ramp.

And... then just run to the exit. Hope Yoriko kept up. That's pretty much it! My final time was 1:04:36, which is a slight improvement over my first edition of the run which was 1:04:68. Plus the video quality is vastly improved.
