Previously, Davilas completed the fifth primary Companions quest, "Purity of Revenge". He retrieved the Fragments of Wuuthrad and brought ruin to the Silver Hand. Now, for the final primary Companions quest, "Glory of the Dead", he must first attend Kodlak's funeral.

After resuming in Whiterun, Davilas travels to the Skyforge behind Jorrvaskr. When the funeral is over, Davilas hands over the Fragments of Wuuthrad to Eorlund Gray-Mane. Eorlund also asks Davilas to go to Kodlak's chambers in Jorrvaskr and retrieve Kodlak's fragment.

Down in the Jorrvaskr Living Quarters, Davilas heads north to Kodlak's chambers. There is a copy of "Song of Horormir", which increases Two-handed when read. In the bedroom, Kodlak's Fragment of Wuuthrad is inside an end table, along with Kodlak's Journal. Davilas must now take the fragment to Eorlund.

Also in Kodlak's bedroom, Davilas finds Stone of Barenziah #15.

Outside, Davilas delivers Kodlak's Fragment of Wuuthrad to Eorlund. Eorlund tells Davilas to meet the members of the Circle at the Underforge.

Davilas enters the Underforge to find Aela, Farkas, and Vilkas. As they discuss Kodlak's final wishes, Eorlund arrives with the reforged Wuuthrad, an axe that does additional damage to Elves. Now, Davilas and the Circle must go to Ysgramor's Tomb to help Kodlak's spirit. Ysgramor's Tomb is on an island off the coast northwest of Winterhold.

Davilas fast-travels to Winterhold. Northwest of town, he finds Ysgramor's Tomb. The location is quite remote.

Inside Ysgramor's Tomb, he finds the Circle waiting. After Davilas places Wuuthrad on the statue of Ysgramor, the way forward opens. Vilkas will remain at the entry. Davilas must now travel to the burial chamber with Farkas and Aela.

After some Skeevers, Davilas and his companions encounter some Companion Ghosts. Farther in, they also encounter some Frostbite Spiders. Farkas eventually leaves the group, and Davilas and Aela must continue on.

Eventually, after a powerful group of Companion Ghosts, Davilas reaches the burial chambers, where he speaks to Kodlak's ghost. He asks Davilas to throw a Glenmoril Witch's Head into the fire.

After Davilas examines the Flame of the Harbinger, he must defeat Kodlak's Wolf Spirit. After this, he speaks to Kodlak again. Kodlak is now free of Hircine's curse. Davilas is now the Harbinger of the Companions. "Glory of the Dead" complete! The player earns the silver trophy "Glory of the Dead" for finishing this quest.

Aela speaks to Davilas afterwards. Davilas takes on the objective "Talk to the Companions leaders for work". Davilas also has the option of throwing another Glenmoril Witch's Head into the fire to cure himself of being a werewolf. A boss chest in the tomb chamber contains the Shield of Ysgramor.

There are shortcuts leading back up to the entrance chamber. When Davilas reaches the entrance chamber, another door to the west also becomes accessible. I should have continued because there is a Word Wall out here, but I will get it next time. Davilas can also reclaim Wuuthrad from the statue of Ysgramor.

Davilas fast-travels to Whiterun and visits Jorrvaskr. Disappointingly, there is no big scene to welcome Davilas as the new Harbinger. Oh, well. However, Kodlak's chambers in the Jorrvaskr Living Quarters are now his to use.

When he is done, Davilas fast-travels home to Lakeview Manor to manage his inventory. Next time, he will wrap up a few things at Ysgramor's Tomb and then start on the Dark Brotherhood quest line.
