Previously, Davilas continued the Dark Brotherhood quest line with a couple more contract quests and the primary quests "The Silence Has Been Broken" and "Bound Until Death". Now, he will continue the quest line with "Breaching Security".

After resuming in the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary, Davilas talks to Gabriella. She has a plot to compromise Commander Maro, the Penitus Oculatus agent in charge of the Emperor's security in Skyrim. Davilas must kill Maro's son, Gaius Maro, and plant false evidence on his body. For a bonus, Davilas must kill Gaius in one of the major cities he will visit, such as Whiterun or Markarth. Optionally, Davilas can steal Gaius Maro's travel schedule from the Penitus Oculatus base in Dragon Bridge.

Davilas fast-travels to Dragon Bridge, where he eavesdrops on a conversation between Commander Maro and Gaius Maro. After the scene, Davilas enters the Penitus Oculatus Outpost and carefully steals Gaius Maro's Travel Schedule.

Afterwards, Davilas fast-travels to Whiterun. There, he waits until late on Turdas and intercepts Gaius Maro in the Bannered Mare. By threatening to kill Gaius and then the Emperor, Davilas provokes Gaius into attacking him so that he can kill him without incurring a bounty. After Gaius is dead, Davilas plants the Incriminating Letter on his body.

Davilas fast-travels back to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. As he arrives, he reports back to Gabriella. "Breaching Security" complete! She rewards Davilas with gold. For killing Gaius in a city, she also gives him Olava's Token. This starts the miscellaneous objective "Receive a reading from Olava the Feeble".

Also, the next primary quest, "The Cure for Madness", begins. There has been an incident involving Cicero. Davilas must first speak with Astrid.

Davilas heads into the sanctuary, where a scene with most of the Brotherhood takes place. Davilas talks to Astrid. Cicero attacked Veezara and then fled. Astrid's husband, Arnbjorn, pursued him. Astrid wants Davilas to track down Cicero and kill him. First, Davilas must search Cicero's room.

On an end table in Cicero's room, Davilas finds "Cicero's Journal - Final Volume". Amid the crazed scribblings, he finds a reference to the Dawnstar Sanctuary and the passphrase.

After taking the journal, Davilas talks to Astrid. Astrid tells Davilas to take her horse, Shadowmere, and then head after Arnbjorn and Cicero.

Outside the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary, Davilas approaches the nearby mere, where Shadowmere appears. Interesting.

Davilas fast-travels to Dawnstar. The Dawnstar Sanctuary is located on the coast northeast of the town center.

Just outside Dawnstar Sanctuary, Davilas finds and talks to Arnbjorn. It sounds like both he and Cicero are injured.

Afterwards, Davilas enters the Dawnstar Sanctuary by providing the passphrase, "Innocence, my Brother." In here, Davilas must track down Cicero. Sanctuary Guardians will attack while Davilas progresses through this place.

In this place, there is a copy of "Fire and Darkness", which increases One-handed when read.

In the icy cavern, there is a named ice troll, Udefrykte.

Eventually, Davilas catches up with the injured Cicero. If you want this lunatic as a follower later on, you should spare his life.

Davilas chooses to spare Cicero and leave Dawnstar Sanctuary. Afterwards, he must report back to Astrid. Outside the sanctuary, he takes out a pesky Ancient Dragon.

For the objective "Receive a reading from Olava the Feeble", Davilas fast-travels to Whiterun. Upon his arrival, a Courier delivers another random Letter from a Friend. Reading this letter starts the objective "Find the source of power in Mount Anthor". Mount Anthor is in the mountains southwest of Winterhold.

Davilas chats with Olava the Feeble and shows her the token that Gabriella gave him. Olava gives him an interesting reading. She tells him about the last resting place of a Dark Brother in Hag's End, accessible through Deepwood Redoubt. This concludes "Receive a reading from Olava the Feeble" and starts another objective, "Locate the assassin of old".
