Previously, Davilas continued exploring the Soul Cairn for the Dawnguard quest "Beyond Death". For this quest, he met Valerica and defeated two of the three Boneyard Keepers maintaining the barrier around her prison. Also, he gained the ability to summon Arvak as a steed, and he completed the quest "Impatience of a Saint". Now, he will wrap up his business in the Soul Cairn.

Davilas resumes at Jiub's location in the east of the Soul Cairn. At a building to the south, he takes on the last of the three Keepers. This one wields a two-handed axe, and its attacks are quite powerful. Once all three Keepers are defeated, the barrier around Valerica's prison disappears.

At a nearby shrine, Davilas finds "Spell Tome: Conjure Wrathman". This is the third of the conjuration spells available here.

To the east, Davilas locates the Reaper's Lair. Within, if he has the three Reaper Gem Fragments scattered around the Soul Cairn, he can activate the Reaper Shard Receptacle to summon an optional boss, the Reaper and assorted other undead. I am not impressed. There is not much reward for this.

Davilas heads north and meets Valerica at her former prison. She guides him north into the Boneyard. As Valerica warns, the dragon Durnehviir attacks. Durnehviir summons a horde of undead to help him in battle, but he is not as difficult as some other dragons. However, when he is defeated, he does not provide a Dragon Soul.

After the battle, Valerica guides Davilas to a storage area and lets him take the Elder Scroll (Blood). For "Beyond Death", he must talk to Valerica before leaving. For "Seeking Disclosure", he must now bring both Elder Scrolls to Dexion at Fort Dawnguard.

Davilas speaks to Valerica. She will remain in the Soul Cairn until Harkon is defeated. Now, he must return to Tamriel.

As Davilas leaves the Boneyard, he finds Durnehviir in the Soul Cairn. After explaining his plight, Durnehviir requests that Davilas summon him to Tamriel. This start the objectives "Summon Durnehviir in Tamriel" and "Learn the first word of Durnehviir's Shout". Durnehviir teaches Davilas the three words of the shout "Summon Durnehviir": "Curse", "Never", and "Dying".

Afterwards, Davilas rides southwest. He takes the portal back to Volkihar Ruins in Tamriel. "Beyond Death" complete! The player earns the trophy "Beyond Death" for concluding this quest.

Out on the Volkihar Balcony, Davilas fast-travels to Lakeview Manor to manage his inventory.

Then, he fast-travels to Fort Dawnguard in the southeast. However, when he meets Dexion, he learns that there is a new complication. Dexion has gone blind from reading Serana's Elder Scroll. "Seeking Disclosure" complete!

The next quest, "Unseen Visions", starts right away. Davilas must go to an Ancestor Glade near Falkreath and perform the Ancestor Moth ritual so he can read the Elder Scrolls safely. Dexion hands over the Elder Scroll (Sun).

Davilas fast-travels to Peak's Shade Tower near Falkreath. Up the slopes to the southeast, Davilas finds the Ancestor Glade.

Within, he first grabs the Draw Knife. Then, he examines a nearby Canticle Tree to harvest Cantle Bark. Afterwards, he must attract seven Ancestor Moth Swarms. All he has to do is approach the swarms to attract them.

After attracting the seven swarms, Davilas approaches the column of light near where he found the Draw Knife. There, he reads the Elder Scroll (Blood) first. He automatically reads the other scrolls in order.

After the reading, Davilas speaks with Serana. Davilas has learned that Auriel's Bow is in Darkfall Cave in the northwest of Skyrim. "Unseen Visions" complete!

The next quest, "Touching the Sky", begins away. Davilas must locate Auriel's Bow in Darkfall Cave.

However, before leaving the Ancestor Glade, Davilas and Serana must take out some attacking vampires.

Davilas fast-travels back to the Castle Volkihar Balcony. In Valerica's Study, he disenchants a weapon for the Absorb Magicka enchantment.

Davilas fast-travels back home to Lakeview Manor. He gives his kids some presents.

Next time, he will head to Darkfall Cave and begin the lengthy search for Auriel's Bow.
