Big thank you to @Lipnox88 for the heads up on this.πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŠπŸ‘

Slowp feels like a cross between Coolboarders and Fingerboarding in this surprisingly fun snowboarding experience.

the first time i entered Slowp i was a little confused and thought that I needed to somehow recalibrate my Quest as the board doesn't appear down where your feet are, but as an extension of your arms and hands. After a couple of attempted runs down the mountains, I began to understand more about controlling my board and even began trying out a few of my own tricks.

Visually the game looks like it is from the Coolboarders franchise, the cell shaded slopes and trees feel warmly familiar as does the fog which helps to mask the draw distance, the experience feels like a homage to the classic boarding games. The scale of the board itself feels and looks right with colourful artwork on either side..

The experience itself seems to have no goals, other than to make your way down each mountain and find some of the hidden portals along the way. There are no points to be earnt from tricks or fastest times leaderboards, this is presently just a free roam experience with two mountains to play on, the developer is currently working on a replica of an Olympic slope.

Having played through the two mountains number of times, I decided to experiment and I looked at ways of strapping the controllers to my ankles, unfortunately the tracking of them didn't work well and therefore I didn't record this gameplay as i believe this isn't how the game should be played, it also made more sense of the hand control scheme as you are able to preform flips, twists and angle the board to perform realistic weaving down the slopes.

I would love to see an option to create your own artwork on a board, or more board selections, plus an option to extend the distance that the board is from your hands, as during prolonged play I found myself crouching more to meet the ground. But also with more gameplay I started to pull off some really cool flips and huge jumps, especially on the ramps.

This is another brilliant experiment hidden away on SideQuest that shows the unique potential of VR experiences and the imagination and originality of another independent developer.
