All of Yoshi's voice clips from Smash 64, provided by Kazumi Totaka, recycled from Yoshi's Story, and reused again in all later Smash titles. This was the second game where Totaka voiced Yoshi after the aforementioned Yoshi's Story, and the only N64 game in 1999 where he voiced him, no less (as Mario Party 1, Mario Golf 64, and Mario Party 2 all used his 16-bit Super Mario World sound effects instead). Curiously, while Red, Yellow, and Light Blue Yoshi are all selectable costumes for Yoshi in all modes, Blue and Pink Yoshi only appear as CPU opponents in the Classic Mode battle against him (which would ultimately be rectified in later entries). Make of that what you will.
