All of Mario's voice clips from Smash 64, provided by Charles Martinet, recycled from Super Mario 64, reused in Melee, and pitched up for Luigi. Being Nintendo's mascot, Mario has been playable in every single Smash Bros. installment thus far, and the first two games are two notable examples of his SM64 voice clips being used extensively. His Star KO scream is slightly pitched down compared to how it sounds in Melee, and most of his voice clips are also somewhat edited compared to how they were in SM64 as well. Metal Mario (making his first appearance as a separate character from Mario himself) also appears as a miniboss in Classic Mode, where the player must fight him on Metal Crystal, a stage that, to this day, remains exclusive to Smash 64's Classic Mode outside of fan mods.
